We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues streaming our videos. We do our best to make streaming like the Jetsons, but sometimes technology can feel a bit ACME. We've found the steps below usually resolves most playback issues. Be sure to test video playback between each step to see if the problem has been fixed. If you run into the same problem simply proceed to the next step then try again.
Note: Due to the many different Android mobile devices and Android OS versions, some of these steps might not sync up perfectly with what you're seeing on your device. If you are unable to proceed with any step and are lost, please contact us, and we'll be happy to help you complete the section.
Check other videos: Sometimes the issue might only be experienced with a specific episode or show.
- Launch the Boomerang app, and select a couple different videos.
- After the video begins to play, watch to see if the video plays as expected.
- If you can watch other videos without issue, there may be a problem with a specific video.
- Please let us know the name of the episode or movie you're experiencing issues with.
- If every video you try experiences the same issue, try checking your internet connection.
Check your internet connection: When streaming video over a slow or unreliable internet connection, the speed may be fast enough to hear audio, but not fast enough to display video.
- If you're connecting via your cellular network, try connecting via Wi-Fi.
- If you're experiencing these issues on Wi-Fi as well, unplug both your router and modem, then wait 30 seconds before plugging them back in.
- If you're experiencing these issues over your cellular network try closing all other active applications, then if that doesn't resolve the issue restart your phone or tablet.
Disable Color Correction (if enabled): If you continue to hear audio but not video, try checking your color settings.
- Navigate to 'Settings' on your device
- Locate and select 'Accessibility'
- Select 'Color Correction' or 'Vision'
- Set the switch to the 'off' position
Close the app, and clear the cache:
- Navigate to 'Settings' on your Android device
- Locate and select 'Apps' or 'App Manager'
- You may see 'App Manager' after selecting 'Apps'
- Find 'Boomerang' in the apps list and select 'Force Stop'
- Navigate to 'Storage' and select 'Clear Data', and 'Clear Cache'
- Open the Boomerang App, you'll need to log in again.
Power cycling your device
- Locate the power button, generally placed on the side, or top of your device, and hold it down until you're presented with options to 'Power off', or 'Restart your device'; select 'Power off', and wait about 30 seconds.
- Press and hold the power button until the device begins to turn on, you may release the power button once your device begins to power up.
- Reopen the Boomerang app, you may be prompted to log in again.
- Try to watch an episode or movie.
Reinstalling the Boomerang App: Reinstalling the app typically fixes most issues encountered across any application. Note: Be sure to delete any downloaded videos before uninstalling the Boomerang App.
- Navigate to 'Settings' on your device
- Locate and select 'Apps' or 'App Manager'
- You may see 'App Manager' after selecting 'Apps'
- Find and select 'Boomerang', then tap 'Uninstall'
- Access Google Play from your device or desktop computer
- If you're using your desktop computer, make sure you are logged into the same Google account that is tied to your device, this will allow you to install the application on your mobile device from your desktop computer
- Search for Boomerang Cartoons. It'll have a picture of Bugs and Scooby hanging out.
- Tap 'Install'
- Reopen the Boomerang app, and login
